BOYS’ BRIGADE (Anchor Boys’ Section)
The Anchor Boys’ Section has again been very busy this
year. Our average weekly attendance has
been about 24 boys. The changes to B.B.
rules have allowed us to lower our recruitment age from P2 to P1.
Within the Anchor Boys the advancement of Christ’s Kingdom
remains our key objective and we provide our boys with a varied programme of
Bible stories, crafts and games.
During the year, six of our boys won the Battalion heat of
the Anchor Boys Fun and Games competition.
The final event was held in Magherafelt and the boys did really well to
make fifth place. Our Winter outing was
to the Antrim cinema to see ‘Polar Express’.
BOYS’ BRIGADE (Junior Section)
I am pleased to report that we gained the same number of
boys from Anchor Boys as were promoted to the Company Section. This means we have 22 boys on our books,
with 18 to 20 boys attending regularly every week.
As usual we enter all Battalion competitions and
events. Hopefully this year we will win
more trophies! Our Monday nights are
filled with devotions, badge work, fun and games. We would welcome any new boys aged 8 – 11 years old.
BOYS’ BRIGADE (Company Section)
The B.B. continues to go from strength to strength with
approximately 80 boys attending through the various sections. The Company Section meets every week.
We continue to offer a fun and varied programme including
badge work, games and many other sporting activities. Third Antrim represents the battalion at all competitions and
activities and generally achieve a high standard.
This year we have 3 boys entering for Queen’s badge.
These boys have been members of our brigade since Anchor Boys and are
not only a credit to themselves but also their families. We wish them well.
Christian education plays a big part in our B.B. The Company Section Bible Class is very well
attended. Special thanks for those who
share with the boys on a Monday night.
It is our aim and prayer to see boys commit their lives to Christ.
